GRANDSON LOVES ITJul 30, 2010 My two year old grandson is an Elmo-phile. This guy is the perfect size for sleeping in a crib or toddler bed with my grandbaby. Well constructed and will take a lot of abuse.
its like crack for kidsJun 24, 2010 As a new parent, I have to ask, what is it about Elmo that is like attractive to kids. My daughter identified Elmo before the age of 2. I bought this from Amazon because I could not find one like this anywhere locally and its been great! She's had it for almost a year now and it hasnt unravelled, exploded, or started talking by itself!
Great size and softness foJun 12, 2010 Bought this for my 7 month old son whom for some reason only responds to Elmo when he sees him on Sesame Street. Elmo is a good size for him (14") and he's soft, cuddlable. Yes, his eye balls are hard and time to time my son bonks himself in the head with him but you can expect that with any doll. I don't have problems with his fur or any tears. He's huggable and a great size for my little one. I didn't want a big Elmo cuz I want it small enough to travel and take along with when he gets older. So two thumbs up for this toy!
It's Melmo's worldJun 01, 2010 My 17 month old daughter wont go anywhere without Elmo. She calls him Melmo. She used to be a Nemo kid but she has switched to Elmo. He is soft and durable, another reviewer said he wasn't red enough, I don't find that to be the case. I guess the only review that matters is my daughter and she loves him.
Kids love ElmoMar 14, 2010 Well, I don't know who the genius was who came up with the Elmo character but he really knows what kids like. I got this puppet for my son when he was about 18 months old and he adored it. He was in love with Elmo from a book (we don't even watch TV and he had never even seen Sesame street). He loves playing with the puppet. The mouth is easy for his small hands to move, plus it is a plush toy so it is also like a stuffed animal for him. Now he is 2.5 and still loves it and so does our 5 month old baby. If he is crying all you need to do to make him stop is have Elmo talk to him. The problem we are now dealing with is that they both want it! This puppet only allows mouth movement, but I think this is good for a small child because they don't have enough dexterity to move mouth and hands anyways.
Now for a few small cons: the shaggy hair shed a bit when we first got it-it seemed to stop after about a month, but it did happen; it is only surface washable-this can be a pretty big deal if your child takes elmo everywhere (as mine does), but we have managed.
I still gave it a 5 though because I just can't overstate how much my children love this toy.
