Granite GrinderJul 01, 2010
I collect, and put together, Lego sets as a hobby.
I liked this set because it was kind of challenging. It also had features that I did not expect... in order to operate the grinder, it had a pulley system instead of a gear system.
I would have liked it better if it were a larger set. 10 years ago, the Granite Grinder was an enormous set. In this version, everything was scaled down quite a bit.

A little expensive but niceMar 09, 2010 Many small parts and if you loose one, well.....My son now had several Power Miner toys. He does enjoy them but I had to help him build them the first time(his age 7).
Cool set but not too fond of the rubber bandJan 25, 2010 This is a cool set, from a cool theme. Definitely a buy. However, I have never been fond of the use of rubber band in LEGO; it's not durable and is pretty lame. Shouldn't stop anyone from buying, though.

Grandson loves it!Nov 01, 2009 I got this for my 7 year old grandson. He loved the challenge of following the directions, and creating something fun.

Tons of fun!Aug 31, 2009 I'm still not quite sure what is more fun for the boys with these Rock Miner series - the actual truck or the adorable (don't tell them that!) little rock monsters that come with them! We have quite the collection of these little dudes and all the boys HAVE to have them! This one in particular is very detail-oriented, scoops up the crystals and actually helps to dump them into the trucks before the rock monsters can eat them. Love the story on this set too - you have to watch them on lego.com. Great, great set, VERY loved in this house, tons of playtime too. Highly, highly recommend!
