Good product, but a bit difficult to keep togetherJul 28, 2010
The product is well made and thick enough, especially over a carpeted floor. It's great for both comfort and educational value. The only downside is that the interlocking tiles cannot stand up to a concerted attack by infant twins who choose to disassemble it. So far there is no damage, but the tiles do not stay assembled.

Pros & cons, and multiple usesJun 14, 2010
Creates a nice-size floor space for babies! We used this on top of the carpet so our baby could eat snacks without getting crumbs everywhere. While the letters do pop out pretty regularly, it's not like the whole thing falls apart by any means. I did discover how it could be a choking hazard--our baby was pulling up the tiles at about 8-9 months and started gnawing on an edge (teething but no teeth yet) and successfully ripped off a small portion which I just threw away. After a few months of having it out, a few square feet of it has is now being used on top of the tiles in front of the fireplace in case he falls and bangs his head. It would probably be nice to have out on a wood deck too to avoid excess dirt, possible splinters and bugs. At this point, I would prefer one without the pop-out letters.

We wanted to replace a rug on our hardwood floor with something soft and fun for our daughter. Seeing similar mats in our friends' houses, we started searching for one. We chose this particular brand because we liked the price, the colors, and the fact that the set of 36 squares 12" x 12" large came with both uppercase letters and numbers. After installing the mats in a play room, we fell in love with them (as well as our daughter) and we knew at once that we want more of them to cover the space of our floor. We ordered a second 36-piece set - this time with lowercase letters. Now, we have 72 square feet of beautiful and fun to use mats to play for all of us!

 Terrible mat and wow, what horrible serviceJun 09, 2010
I was excited by the great reviews and couldn't wait to get the mat for my 11 month old son. The color in the picture is very misleading. The real mat is not bright and vibrant at all. As soon as I peeled the shrink wrap the letter C fell out of the square. I knew the letters were removable but I didn't expect them to be so loose. It didn't cross my mind that returning the mat would be such a hassle. Onto customer service...
We Sell Mats does not have their refund policy listed on Amazon (I should have checked it before purchasing the mat, but I have never had a bad experience buying online thus didn't see the need). I wrote an email and the company took two days to write back. By the time they had sent me an email, I had already called and spoke with an agent. The agent asked if the shrink wrap was open (how would I know that I hate the mat if it was still wrapped?!) and then proceeded to ask if I had placed it on the floor as that would make it used and nonrefundable. I assured the gentleman that I had not and that the letter fell out of the square when I took them out. He took my info and told me that I can send back the mat. I am 100% sure that if I were to send it, they would tell me there was a tiny dust on there and not refund my money. I am keeping the mat and find some random use for it. I am not going to pay shipping to send it back knowing that I "may" get my money back. And while, we are on shipping... $14.99 for the original shipment?! You can find MANY other mats with a smaller shipping fee (and free with Prime). I shouldn't have been fooled by the pretty bright colors and have never ordered this mat. The service is what killed it though...

Yes it looks like the picture. I thought it would have been a little thicker. Because it's not, it shifts when child is playing on it and when you walk on it. I don't like that the letters/numbers come out. Maybe I will later when she is older.
