Wow!Sep 03, 2010 Great Toy! I thought that these were just going to be army men with the same poses, just different colors, but when it arrived in the mail I opened it up and I noticed that each country had different poses and you get 202! I also liked that you got flags for every country. It could use a tank but other than that great!
Unflinching TroopsAug 19, 2010 While they are labeled action figures, the more accurate term is army men, as that's what they are; an army (of men), ready to be strategically placed and, if your child/opponent has the drive, even wargamed with(see an army men wargaming guide at [...], as the four different colors can represent opposing forces.
Each side has its own personality or flavor. There are side specific poses, such as the German with the ammo can to go with the distinct German machine gunner. The bucket contains an ideal balance of poses; you'll get about 3 of each on the average, depicting crawling, manning light machine gun turrets, throwing grenades, generic riflemen, and more.
The little guys can put up with most abuse you could think of, besides toying with the microwave. They are constructed of hard plastic that's bendable enough to shape any bent pieces straight but is still surprisingly durable, which means they'll last quite a length, and could, theoretically, be sold as collectibles later on.
These are by no means perfect clones(copies of existing army men), however, you could probably only know the difference by examining the recasts closely (original sculpts). Some of their faces are warped, but painting your men should almost completely cover this up, plus that in itself could be a pleasant activity. The ones pictured are probably as absolute as the figures get, so don't expect unfailing uniformity. I personally think their "flaws," which are unnoticeable from a distance, can be used to give them character -- one of the troops had their face horribly disfigured in a smelting accident. There were no broken pieces.
You'll be surprised at just how many soldiers you've received when you set them up, it really is an army ready for combat.
This is labeled as educational for these figures will stimulate the imagination in both adults and children. Fully recommended for army men enthusiasts and anyone else that's intrigued, five stars.
Army MedJun 13, 2010 I bought these Army Men for my son... well, maybe for me too. It's a nice set of traditional style plastic soldiers with the bonus of coming in four different colors to represent four countries from World War II. The flags are a nice touch. Overall, a great product if you're looking for inexpensive fun.
$$$$$ for cheap plastic toysFeb 12, 2010 My 8 year old son is keenly interested in WWII. I bought this set for him for Christmas because he asked Santa for "army guys" (and Santa was quite impressed with this request). He's been playing with it every day since Christmas, but the quality is very cheap. I suspect the manufacturer/seller is making 5000% profit on it.
Nice nostalgic toyJan 31, 2010 These are great toys and nice combo pack with different countries. I wish I had them when I was a kid.
